What would it sound like if the electronics artist Per Martinsen had lived in a parallel universe for the last 3 decades? The answer is Waveform. In our dimension, Martinsen is best known for his uptempo soundscape as Mental Overdrive, while when he explores expressions like Waveform it is a more abstract and subtle soundscape. He performs live on Nordic Frequency.
DJ and producer Vibeke Bruff is known from, among other things, the critically acclaimed duo project No Dial Tone, a solo project under her own name and as a permanent fixture at several of the capital's clubs for electronic music for over a decade. She is an important communicator of house music in Oslo, and has represented Norway in the world's largest commercial DJ competition.
Niilas is a representative of the new generation of musicians, and recently won the Spellemann Prize in the electronics category. His music is melodic and rhythmic, and with elements of nature and his Sami roots.
Karolinski released what is described as an almost perfect techno record in 2020. She is known for her dub-techno expression, where she combines floating soundscapes with sounds from nature and techno rhythms.
Fred Lundi is a well-known DJ name in our region, and with his unpolished expression he has an impressive 30-year career behind him. He has been involved in several collaborative projects and is known on the FM frequency in Harstad from his volunteer work at Radio Harstad, where he is a producer, music and program developer, journalist and radio host.
Originally from Lithuania, Pijãr has found a home in Harstad where he is an active member of the electronic music scene. You have heard him play his dubbed techno at clubs and festivals around Norway, and he is an important part of several projects and collectives such as "Monument" and "Behind The River".
Charlotte Bendiks is a DJ and producer with an impressive international career. She helped shape the Insomnia Festival in Tromsø, and is a sought-after DJ all over the world, who has played in Buenos Aires, Hanoi, Montevideo, Marseille and Berlin, among others. Her music is deep, dark and psychedelic - and she performs live in Storsalen this evening.
