PREMIERE
The sender, or "Captain Noah", is an aging, endangered scientist who has retreated to a fairy-tale universe. Here, he will try, if possible, to save himself and his animals from the contemporary deluge of new wars and crises.
As observer and captain, the Captain both examines and guides his selected insects through an ingeniously equipped insect aquarium - a so-called vivarium.
In a sea of drowned people and rejected morality, stick insects, snails, wrinkly trolls and scissor animals gradually become both partners and opponents in a philosophical play of sorrow between man in nature and nature in man.
Tore Vagn Lid has assembled a star-studded cast that includes the legendary actors Bjørn Sundquist, Thea Stabell, Even Stormoen, Gjertrud Jynge and Magne Håvard Brekke, as well as top musicians, singers and visual artists from Transiteatret-Bergen.
The production at Festspillene i Nord-Norge will include both the first and second parts of the Triggersystem. The first part, "The Vivarium", premiered at the Black Box Theatre in Oslo last year to great critical acclaim. Now the second part, "The Long Night of the Snail", will have its world premiere at Festspillene i Nord-Norge.
The performance is produced by Transiteatret-Bergen in collaboration with Festspillene i Nord-Norge and the National Theatre.
