Premiere
It is about standing and listening while the ice settles on the river, about naivety, and about walking on a path your feet already know. About human rights and giant masts, about wind turbines and pike cakes, and about mining sludge and fjord fishing.
The performance invites to a conversation between the three actors, but also with specially invited guests. Where do the struggles stand in our own part of the world today? What would be irreplaceable for us? What would make you protest?
Performers, guests and the audience share and experience common experiences.
With dialogue, music and collective sharing, the performance offers knowledge, courage and comfort. For example, can one say that eco-grief is like a kind of love grief? And that loss of place is like homesickness when you are home? Is it possible to long for home – to a place you have never been?
The performance is a collaboration between NOOR Produksjoner and Ferske Scener, and will tour Northern Norway, Northern Sweden, and the Southern Sami district. This in collaboration with Festspillene i Nord-Norge, Giron Sámi Teáhter and Åarjelhsaemien Teatere.
In parallel, we are creating the Storm/Stilla Map Project, a map-based website for further conversation and reflection, where audiences from different performances can meet. The map will be continuously developed during the performance period, through workshop work and external contributions. In this way, loss of place in the north will be documented, but also memories and experiences.
