Throughout her long career as an artist, she has made great efforts to elevate Sami art, language and culture.

She has published 6 poetry collections in Sami with re-writings into Norwegian, which have been purchased for a number of collections.

Her poetry has been translated into several languages, and in both 1993 and 2008 she was nominated for the Nordic Council Literature Prize.
