Some of the best festival moments often happen away from the stage. Bonfire in Altevågen is exactly that kind of evening. We board the bus together, travel out of town and gather around a large fire by the sea to start the week in true festival style.
This is not about performing, but about meeting people. There will be grilling, guitar playing, perhaps a little singalong, and plenty of time to talk to people you have just met. There may even be a trip down to the water to paddle along the shoreline, if the weather allows.
Meeting place for festival youth
Bonfire is a social start to the festival for everyone taking part in the youth programmes during True Northern Arts Festival. Here, participants from both NUK and Ungdommens Festspill meet in a relaxed outdoor setting.
There will be get-to-know-you activities, music around the fire and good conversations as the evening grows lighter over the sea. Perhaps someone will bring a guitar, perhaps a small mini-concert will emerge among the participants – either way, it is guaranteed to be an atmospheric evening with firelight and the sound of waves.
This is an evening where it is easy to get to know people.
