When Hærens musikkorps marches through the town centre, it is impossible not to notice them. The brass gleams, the drums drive the rhythm forward, and the sound reverberates between the buildings before drawing the audience together in Generalhagen at 2pm.
Under the baton of conductor Christian Aftret Eriksen, the band presents a varied and audience-friendly programme. Expect both classical gems and more recent arrangements – several penned by the conductor himself. Eriksen is one of Norway’s most widely commissioned arrangers for the Armed Forces’ bands, combining classical training with experience as a trombonist with, among others, Åge and Sambandet. The result is a concert with a distinctive pulse, where the symphonic meets the popular.
Hærens musikkorps is the region’s professional military band, renowned for its high quality and infectious joy in music-making. In Generalhagen, you can experience them up close in an open-air concert that embraces both ceremony and warmth.
Please note: The concert is weather-dependent.
