Meeting point: UiT Verkstedet, Havnegata 8
Throughout 2026, artist Ibrahim Fazlic is developing Requiem, which will have its world premiere in February 2027. The work is being developed through four laboratories around the country, where different parts and sequences of the piece are explored in dialogue with audiences. The laboratory during True Northern Arts Festival is one of these.
A final meal
In Dead Dinner – The Last Meal, the idea of humanity’s final meal is explored, drawing inspiration from religious stories of “the last supper”, the final wishes of people sentenced to death, and ecological perspectives linked to the food being served. What happens when we gather around the table with an awareness of life’s transience?
The laboratory is an open and experimental exploration in which the material is still in development. Audiences are invited into the process, as the artists test ideas, form and expression – elements that will later become part of the complete work Requiem.
This performance is for you if you:
- are curious about boundary-breaking and ritual performing arts in development
- want to experience art where development is part of the process
- enjoy performances that open up new perspectives and reflections
- want to take part in a collective and sensory theatre experience
