With her critically acclaimed album Tomorrow We’ll Figure Out the Rest, Silje Nergaard has returned to jazz, the musical tradition that first set her on her path back in 2001. On this latest release, she explores timeless themes such as life and love, drawing inspiration from classic jazz standards. The concert will be a musical journey through Silje’s career, from the early jazz-inflected tones of At First Light to the more mature, lyrical expression of her most recent work.
Bodø Big Band, recipients of "Årets Storband i Norge 2025", is among the most prominent big bands in the country. At the forefront of Norwegian big band jazz since 1977, the band has a long tradition of delivering energetic, technically accomplished performances. With a repertoire ranging from classic big band compositions to contemporary jazz, they have collaborated with some of Norway’s leading artists, including Adam Douglas, Mimmi Tamba, Odd René Andersen, Maria Haukaas Mittet and Nils Landgren. Now they are ready to meet the Harstad audience once again after more than 30 years – this time with Silje Nergaard front and centre.
Under the direction of Roger Johansen, drummer and composer renowned for his long-standing career in Norwegian jazz, Bodø Big Band continues to evolve through innovative arrangements and a dynamic musical voice. We can look forward to a truly grand experience, where the great traditions of jazz meet fresh, exciting expressions – performed by a band at the top of its game and one of Norway’s finest jazz singers.
