Saxophonist Kåre Kolve has assembled a star team of Norwegian musicians when he now looks back to his own youth and the fusion music of the 80s. Kolve himself has a background in bands such as Mezzoforte and Lava and as a musician with, among others, Randy Crawford.
The Funky Sunday ticket package, which also includes the Ervik big band in Sentralen from 2300, is available.
The quintet delivers groovy and funky music with clear themes, but still room for improvisation, inspired by 80s bands such as Spyro Gyra, Koinonia, Yellowjackets, Weather Report and David Sanborn. These are bands that today's young fusion artists are also inspired by. Among others, Kolve has with him Bernt Rune Stray, Torstein Lofthus and Lava veterans Frode Mangen and Jonny Sjo. The latter has also been involved in D'Sound.
