NORDAFØRR

NORDAFØRR

Norway’s first crosspollinating, international platform for music, visual arts, performances and literature.

NORDAFØRR is an annual, three day, platform, taking place during Festspillene i Nord-Norge. A platform where Northern Norwegian artists meet and engage with artists from one other Arctic country per year. The three day program consists of performances, concerts, visual art, films and literature from the two countries, the goal being a creation of sustainable networks that promote and strengthen the artists presented. We believe the stories and expressions from the Arctic have relevance and potential to go further and beyond the circumpolar North, and thus we will invite 20-30 festival programmers and booking agents from the world’s leading arts festivals to join us for those exciting and eye opening days.

In 2020, we have invited Icelandic artists to take part in the NORDAFØRR program, and in 2021 we are hoping to welcome Finnish artists as part of the initiative.

Our goal for NORDAFØRR is to create a true creative platform where artists can expand their networks, get inspired and get introduced to the international festival stage. By combining different genres and arts expressions from literature to music, performances and visual arts, NORDAFØRR is the first platform to facilitate mutual exchange for the artists that are part of the program. For the artists, we will provide curated pitching sessions, talks in and out of nature and a great venue to make new friendships and to strengthen old ones.
