"Do you like taking pictures? Do you enjoy working with sculpture? Are you environmentally engaged and concerned about preserving nature? In this workshop, you'll have the opportunity to learn more about important environmental issues and express them through photography and sculpture!"
As a participant in this workshop, you can do several things:
- Learn to take good pictures
- Work with different types of cameras
- Get to know how to develop a staged image, from idea to final result
- Further develop images with digital tools
- Learn how thoughts about nature can be expressed through images and text
- Create an exhibition
The workshop is led by a team of incredibly skilled artists, photographers, and educators who will give you various tasks, inspire, and guide you throughout the week.
ENVIRONMENT, PHOTOGRAPHY, AND SCULPTURE
In this workshop, you will work towards creating a staged photograph based on important environmental issues. You will receive plenty of inspiration along the way and help in developing your idea into a finished product. Part of the work will involve creating sculptures that become part of your image, and you will also be loaned a camera to document the process with. The project's ambition is for your exploration to illuminate environmental issues in Harstad and its surroundings with a positive focus, and for those who view the exhibition we create to understand your and others' environmental commitment.
DIFFICULTY LEVEL:
It's important in this project that you are eager to learn more about photography, but no prior experience is necessary to sign up. All tasks are adjusted to your level of experience and skills, so the workshop will suit those with no, some, or extensive experience with photography. You can write about your experiences in the registration form.
The photography workshop is a collaboration between NUK, Trastad Collections – National Centre for Outsider Art, and Preus Museum.
