Quartetto Testosterone come from Norges musikkhøgskole and the BarrattDue musikkinstitutt to present music by Schubert, the young star Martin Kvam and Steve Reich´s Different Trains – a key work which takes World War II and The Shoah as its theme.
Three works from different epochs. Franz Schubert´s string quartet in C-major, a world premiere by composing talent Martin A.H. Kvam, and the multi-tracked soundworld of Steve Reich. ”Different Trains” is a striking response to the sounds and voices of The Shoah.
Quartetto Testosterone: Daniel Lyngstad, Sondre Fjose Sandberg, Jakob Dingstad and Sverre Barratt-Due. These four lads are well on the way to professional careers, yet are still students at Norges musikkhøgskole and Barratt Due musikkinstitutt.
The string quartet was formed in the Autumn of 2008 and has collaborated with various prominent composers and musicians such as Håvard Gimse, Morten Gaathaug, Tor Espen Aspaas, Stian Carstensen and Njål Sparbo. They have performed at the Oslo Opera House, Concert House and at a number of festivals such as the Harmos festival (Portugal), Risør Chamber Music Festival and Ultima in Oslo. In february 2012 they gave a concert in Helsinki in collaboration with students from the Sibelius Academy. It was repeated in Oslo in October.
Quartetto Testosterone was nominated in 2013 to the ECMA (European Chamber Music Academy) in Vienna, and won 1st prize in The National Youth Concourse in 2011.
