We present for our public a selection of work from the former northern Norwegian jazz guitarist Thorgeir Stubøs (1943-1986) stretching from the 1970´s and into the 80´s. In Kjersti´s new album ”Notis” these instrumental compositions are illustrated by northern Norwegian and Sámi texts, and are presented in fresh and inspiring arrangements by the Kjersti Stubø Quintet.

Many of these compositions are up until now unfamiliar to the public. They were also new to the performers – until they popped up a few years ago in a forgotten trunk in the cellar of Kjersti´s and Håvard´s childhood home. 

The band have treated the material with respectful interpretations and are now ready to give it that final touch with texts and arrangements.  

Kjersti Stubø is one of Norway´s leading jazz vocalists. Her humble, playful and melodic voice is widely sought after for albums and concert performances, both at home and abroad.
