MUSIKKPRODUKSJON – Studio & Live

Music on computers, instruments and vocals

MUSIKKPRODUKSJON – Studio & Live

Do you play an instrument? Do you like singing? Or would you like to make beats and music on a computer?

In this workshop, we make music together. Some participants play guitar, drums or piano. Some sing. Some make beats and sounds on a computer. We play around with recording, and test how everything can be combined into soundtracks and songs.

As a participant in this workshop, you can:

  • play an instrument and/or sing
  • make beats and electronic music on a computer
  • record vocals and instruments
  • create your own melodies
  • use loops, synths and effects
  • combine live instruments with electronic sound
  • develop a song alone or in collaboration with others
  • present your work as part of the full NUK showing – either as a live performance or as a finished produced soundtrack

The workshop is led by a team of experienced instructors who will give you different tasks, inspire you and guide you throughout the week.

What can you expect?

In this workshop, we will explore how “ordinary” instruments can be combined with digital sounds. Perhaps we will start with a guitar melody and build beats around it. Perhaps we will create an electronic track and add vocals and drums. In electronic music, the computer is your creative tool – and there are no rules for how the music should sound.

Whether you want to be inspired by genres such as pop, EDM, hip hop or something else, this is a perfect opportunity to play, explore and create new music together with others. We will adapt the genres to what the group is most interested in.

Level

No previous experience is required – but it is important that you want to spend the week learning more about making and playing music. There is room both for those who have not worked with music before, and for those who already have some or lots of experience but want to develop further.

We can adapt the workshop and level to the different participants. Some understanding of how to use a computer or laptop may be helpful if you want to work electronically. You can write about your experience in the application form.

We experiment with music production on computer and live, and work both individually and in collaboration.
