A cross between street culture and high culture
In this workshop, theatre, dance, street culture and cultural class struggle are brought together – led by instructors from the boundary-breaking performing arts organisation SPKRBOX.
The workshop combines exercises from improvisational theatre and street dance. There will also be opportunities to write texts and poetry, and to try beatboxing. Taking the struggle for social justice as its starting point, the workshop is based on the right to tell your own story on your own terms.
Personal stories about identity, and social and cultural differences, become a means of fighting for a society where there is equal space for everyone.
Level
In this workshop, the most important thing is that you want to learn more about theatre, poetry or dance. You do not need any previous experience to sign up. All tasks will be adapted to your experience and skill level, so the workshop is suitable whether you have no experience, some experience or lots of experience with theatre and/or dance. You can write about your experience in the application form.
In this workshop, theatre, dance, street culture and social engagement come together.
