In Tekstlab, we work with words – in your own way. You can write lyrics for music, create poems, work with rap lyrics or develop spoken word. We explore how language can become a personal and artistic form of expression, with texts that mean something.
As a participant in this workshop, you can:
- write song lyrics
- develop poems and spoken word
- work with rhyme, rhythm and flow
- explore storytelling
- get help to develop your own texts further
- collaborate with the band and music production groups if you wish
- perform your text yourself, or let someone else perform it, together with the rest of the Tekstlab group and as part of the full NUK showing
The workshop is led by experienced instructors who will give you writing tasks, creative tools and individual guidance throughout the week.
Find your voice
How do you start a text? How do you write words that hit home? How can your own experiences become art?
In Tekstlab, we work with both short and longer texts. We try out different writing methods, play with language and explore how text can be communicated – on stage, together with music, or as an artistic expression in its own right. You can work both individually and together with others.
There is no single answer to what makes a “good” text. This is about finding your voice – and daring to use it.

Level
You do not need any previous experience to sign up. The most important thing is that you want to learn more and immerse yourself in working with text. The workshop is suitable both for those who already write a lot, and for those who would like to try it for the first time. Tasks will be adapted to participants’ level and experience. You can write about your experience in the application form.
In the workshop, we get a sense of the group and work with the kinds of texts the participants are most interested in.
