Heavyweight reggae from Bodø
MANNA deliver roots rock reggae the way it was meant to sound: heavy, rhythmic and uncompromising. With Jamaican roots and salt-of-the-earth Northern Norwegian lyrics, the band has for almost 25 years been among the country’s most distinctive names in the genre.
The band grew out of the 1990s group Irie Darlings, who recorded music in Jamaica and worked with legends such as Big Youth, Sly & Robbie and Earl “Chinna” Smith. When the line-up re-emerged as MANNA in 2003, patois had been replaced by Northern Norwegian – but heavy roots reggae remained at the centre.
With bass that rolls deep and lyrics about Rastafari, abuses of power and the fall of Babylon, MANNA deliver reggae with both political nerve and spiritual weight.

Hardcore kings from Tromsø
Turdus Musicus have for decades been one of the most important driving forces in Northern Norwegian hardcore. Since forming in 1998, the band have played everywhere – from festivals in China to sweaty clubs in Japan, the USA and Russia – always flying the flag for Tromsø hardcore.
The band are regarded as godfathers of the local hardcore scene in Tromsø. After imploding on stage in Tokyo 17 years ago, they are now back with new force and new music.
Together with Grammy-winning producer Jason Livermore, they have made the album LOCALS, turning the intensity and aggression up several more notches.

The festival finale
The festival finale brings audiences together for an evening where heavy rhythms, raw guitars and Northern Norwegian musical willpower meet on the same stage. From slow-burning reggae grooves to explosive hardcore – this will be a closing night that marks the end of the festival week with a bang.
