How is art experienced when the whole body is invited in? MANTA is an immersive performance for babies and their carers, where live music and visual installations merge in a safe and exploratory space.
Here, sound, colour, movement and tactile materials meet in an installation inspired by the sea and the majestic world of the manta ray. Soft projections, subdued lighting and natural materials create an environment where children can crawl, roll, listen and explore at their own pace. No one tells them how to experience it – curiosity leads the way.
Music that moves
The music is performed live and is both soothing and playful. The musicians move through the space, allowing sound and movement to enter into dialogue with the children. The compositions have been developed in close interplay with the scenography, and the performance follows a circular journey that begins and ends in calm, undulating water sounds.
The installation includes rocking elements, hanging glass mobiles and bridges at child height, inviting independent movement. The entire experience is designed with the youngest audience members at its centre – safe, open and full of wonder.
MANTA creates moments of closeness between children and adults, and makes space for shared discovery in a magical, multisensory world.
This performance is for you if you:
- have a baby aged between 4 and 24 months
- want a safe and sensory first art experience
- want to share music and wonder with the very youngest
