The army's music corps creates a festive concert, with northern Norwegian world artists and local actors in the middle of Tore Hund's kingdom, on Sunday 25 June at 18:00 in Nergårdsvik, Bjarkøy.
The Army's Music Corps invites North Norwegian world artists, newcomers, dancers, actors, a men's choir and students from the Harstad Cultural School on the stage with them for the Festival Concert in Tore Hund's kingdom.
The party starts in the year 1030, takes us up to our time and beyond. Tore Hund himself leads us through some of the music history's many images of power, wealth, revenge, love, storms, and celebrations. In 2030 it will be a thousand years since the Battle of Stiklestad, and the «National Jubilee Norway for 1,000 years» celebrates that Norway has existed as a kingdom for 1,000 years. Harstad municipality and the surrounding region are involved in the anniversary celebrations and have 2023 as the marking year.
There will be both drama, celebration and party when Bjarkøy's great soprano, Hamida Kristoffersen and Harstad's baritone Audun Iversen enter the outdoor stage. They come home from Opera houses in Zurich, Copenhagen and London to perform something they have both been looking forward to for a long time, namely singing outdoors in Tore Hund's realm. The folk dancer Sigurd Johan Heide, from Grytøya, is brought home as a dancer, choreographer and director.
Tore Hund is played by Tromsøværingen Kristoffer Anker Gustavsen, who can be found on a daily basis in one of Hålogaland Teater's many productions. Bel Chorus under the direction of Dag Erik Enoksen fills the role of resounding male choir. Around 100 young students from the Harstad Cultural school will perform in the production.
Transport will be set up from the center of Harstad to Bjarkøy and back.
