Singer-songwriter Monica Heldal is a comet heading fast for pop paradise. She moves between blues, folk and rock with her uncommonly beautiful voice and guitar playing which makes her stand out in a crowd.
Monica Heldal won the Spellemann prize as pop soloist of the year in 2014, and since then has travelled the length and breadth of Norway. Her debut album ”Boy From The North” came out in 2013, and in september 2014 was also released in the USA. She has given over 30 concerts ”across the water”, amongst others as support for the John Butler Trio.
As an accompaniment to her Norwegian tours she has released the digital mini-collection ”Waiting On The Fire”, with three bonus tracks which were not included on the debut CD ”Boy From The North”.
- Monica Heldal is one of Norway´s strongest pop artists in a scene already bursting with talent, wrote Desibel Musikkmagasin after a concert at Rockefeller just before Christmas. She will be coming to Harstad´s Nordic Hall with amongst others the white hot guitarist Cato "Salsa" Thomassen.
Monica Heldal has lived in Ireland where she travelled round and performed songs by the national guitar hero Rory Gallagher. Rory, who died far too young 1995, is hardly a normal source of inspiration for young Norwegian singers, but his music has become part of Heldal´s heritage.
We look forward to a magic experience at Nordic Hall.
NB. We draw attention to this year´s discount theme packages. A ticket for Monica Heldal is included in "Langhelg i Nordic Hall". This package costs 550,- kroner and gains entry to 3 concerts.
