The Estonian trio Trad. Attack hop back and forth from energetic songs to touching and sensitive music. The band breath new life into Estonian traditional music with fresh highly rhythmic expression. They recently walked off with the best band, best album and best newcomer awards from the Estonian Grammy Awards in 2014. So they are sizzlingly hot in their home country.
We were so taken by this youthful trio that we present them in the intimate surroundings of Galleri Nord-Norge in the afternoon, and also in the heady club atmosphere of Ludo.
Trad. Attack have a determined goal to perform in every country in the world. We are doing our bit by bringing them to Norway for the first time. The three band members Sandra Sillamaa, Jalmar Vabarna and Tõnu Tubli are superstars in the Estonian folk music milieu, despite being young in years.
In addition to their charm, spontaneity and huge stage presence, they are visually stunning, something which comes to the fore in all their concerts, videos and album covers.
Trad. Attack have picked up a number of prizes. In January 2015 they won Estonian Music Awards for the year´s best folk music album and best music video. Last October they stacked up a record haul of Estonian Ethno Music Awards winning best band, best album, best song and best newcomer!
- Trad. Attack is like a fireball, like a fresh grapefruit juice, they run the life on – you should have it every morning! Helen Sildna, Head of Tallinn Music Week.
