Ævestaden is a Norwegian-Swedish award-winning trio that connects the traditional and the modern seamlessly. The band was in 2021 Folkelarmpris for their debut record.

The trio plays newly composed and traditional music on new and older folk instruments, mixed with electronic elements. Their varying instrument combinations open up a unique soundscape when timeless harmonies, and layers of minimalist motifs, create an open and atmospheric world.

Ævestaden´s songs are about the conscious and the subconscious - the mundane and the sacred - about life and death.
