Welcome to a masterpiece of a film that is making its way around the world. In 2022, the Australian theater Back to Back Theater won the world's biggest theater prize, the International Ibsen Prize. This is the film version of the critically acclaimed play "The Shadow Whose Prey the Hunter Becomes". The play - and the film, are recorded with people with different functional variations both in front of and behind the camera.
The film is about Simon, Scott and Sarah, a trio of activists with intellectual challenges, who hold an open public meeting about the future consequences of artificial intelligence. It begins as a polite discussion, but quickly turns into arguments and chaos, apparently provoked by internal forces. The film won the audience award at the 2022 South By Southwest (SXSW) film festival.
Two representatives of the theater are in Harstad and will participate in a conversation about the performance ahead of the screening.
Back to Back Theater has performed at leading cultural festivals and stages around the world. All the actors in the ensemble have norm-breaking functional variations. By mixing the actual and the fictional, the experienced and the speculative, the brutal and the tender, Back to Back Theater creates stage art that is always unpredictable, unexpected and unique.
