It will be a meeting of musical masters when England Brooks, with her band, invites Ole Børud for an evening of groovy soul, funk, and jazz.
American born England Brooks made Bodø her new home in the early 2000s. With her deep and soulful voice, she has delighted fans and created many great moments with her ability to convey and communicate with the audience.
Ole Børud is known to most as a vocalist from the TV program Stjernekamp in 2018, where he reached the final. In recent years, he has moved towards classic soul – with strong elements of rhythm and blues.
When England Brooks sings from the great American songbook, it is with genuineness, inspired by her musical upbringing in the homeland of jazz. Børud comes from a family that was a music institution in itself.
Therefore, it is not unnatural that these two strong vocalists effortlessly move between genres such as ballads, bossa nova, evergreens, and uptempo swing – always focusing on storytelling and communication.
With Magne Arnesen on piano, John-Kåre Hansen on guitar, Dag Erik Pedersen on double bass, and Roger Johansen on drums, the band is ready to create an evening filled with musical highlights where soul meets jazz and funk in perfect harmony, only during the Festspillene i Nord-Norge.
