The Festspillene i Nord-Norge is collaborating with artist Sonia Hughes to explore something fun, new, and radical, and now they are calling for women who want to participate in a workshop.

Hughes is starting a band and needs others to contribute thoughts, ideas, and reflections. Sonia herself will talk, play music, ask questions, or maybe sing a song. NO MUSICAL EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY.

- I am 58 years old, and I am looking for people around my age and older, but I am also open to some younger participants. It is a project for women. Shy or tired, troublemakers, thick and thin, fearless and formidable – all are welcome. It will be fun and thought-provoking, and it will be wonderful to be among women in Harstad, says Sonia Hughes herself.

You will meet on Tuesday, June 25th, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Fritidssenteret, right in the center of Harstad - near Harstad school. The workshop will be a place to share ideas and talk, as well as to do some musical experiments and enjoy each other’s company.

Sonia is researching ideas for a new performance, and participation in this activity will inform her thoughts on this, but it does not guarantee a place in the final performance. Mainly, it is a place to have fun, share ideas, and make music.

It will end with something to eat, and it is a place to relax and reflect on the day.
