Radio Harstad follows the festival day by day, sharing highlights from what they experience. Audiences who attend can be part of the live broadcast – an exclusive experience for those in the room. And if you cannot make it, the broadcasts will also be made available online afterwards.
Young people make the radio
Radio Harstad is Norway’s only youth-run radio station. For almost 40 years, young people aged 13 to 20 have been behind the microphones as presenters, technicians and reporters. Many who started here have later gone on to work for NRK and other media organisations.
Through radio, young people gain experience in journalism, interviews, social media and creative storytelling – as well as the opportunity to meet artists and cover concerts and events. The result is a vibrant festival radio station created by young voices with genuine enthusiasm for what is happening in the town.
