The celebration begins with a parade from UiT at Sjøsiden to Torget. Everyone is welcome to join in – whether you want to dance, walk in the parade or simply soak up the atmosphere. With a DJ, drums and celebration in the streets, the procession will move through town before it all culminates at Torget.
Open-air dance floor
At Torget, the town centre is transformed into a pulsing dance floor. Inspired by the legendary Soul Train tradition from African-American music and dance culture, the audience forms two lines, creating a tunnel of cheers, encouragement and groove. From there, all you have to do is dance your way through – with exactly the moves you want.
This is not about being the best dancer, but about celebrating music, community and the joy of life together.
Join in – or simply enjoy the atmosphere
You can take part in the whole journey from UiT to Torget, or meet up in the town centre when Soul Train begins. Whether you want to dance, cheer or simply enjoy the atmosphere, you are welcome.
