PREMIERE
The Arctic Arts Festival, the Cultural Centre of Finnsnes and the regional dance centre of Northern Norway have gathered senior female dancers to a Northern Norwegian dancetheatre premiere.
The dancers in the performance are aged around 70 years old, recruited from a recognized gymnastics group flourishing in the 1970s. In this show the women's own journey through childhood, through the war years, their young love, leading up to hard work and grief. This is truly an unique dance performance, celebrating our mothers!
PATINA was presented for the first time in 2012 by the previous theatre manager of Carte Blanche, Arne Fagerholt, and has since been celebrated across the country by both critics and audience. In this Northern Norwegian version, 30 women with a lifetime of experience are on stage. Arne Fagerholt wanted to tell stories of ups and downs leating the women to where they are today, senior women, nevertheless stars in their own show of their lived lives.
This dance performance is a beautiful, gentle and fun tale of aging with grace - a celebration of our mothers' generation.
