The first festival came in 1973. Four years after the Woodstock festival, and less than a year after the referendum on Norwegian membership in the EU. It was a time of music in the air, and lively debate in all arenas. The Northern Norwegian wave of songs was already rising, and Troilltampen - the mother of all winds - was to turn it into a raging sea. Here, established and new artists, amateurs and professionals met, and created what would become a concept: Troilltampen.
This year, the Northern Norway Festival breathes life into the spirit of that time, with Ragnar Olsen, Dag Kajander,Leo Leonardsen, Kai Larsen, Tove Karoline Knutsen and Kine Yvonne Kjær on stage. And we look at how this spirit lives on today. The project has been named Troillkampen. Maybe it is a necessary continuation of it all? Because while Troilltampen had its time and helped in small and big ways, there are other battles to be fought today. Troillkamper.
