Anima Choir – preview (JP/NO)

Dance, sculpture and voices in dialogue with the landscape

Anima Choir – preview (JP/NO)

Anima Choir is a site-sensitive dance performance created by choreographer Yohei Hamada. The work explores the coexistence of the human body, sculpture, voice and landscape, and has been developed through work in Arctic surroundings.

The project grows out of journeys and encounters with different places. Dance, visual art and sound are woven together in a collective structure in which the performers are also co-creators. The result is a performance where movement, space and material influence one another in real time.

The presentation at True Northern Arts Festival is a preview of the work in its current stage of development. Audiences are invited into the process and given the opportunity to experience the material as it appears right now – shaped by collaboration, landscape and the environments through which the project moves.

Towards the premiere in Bodø

The completed performance will premiere at Bodø Biennale in September 2026.

Co-production: True Northern Arts Festival

Partners: Bergen Dansesenter, Cape East, Dans – en fest, Davvi – Centre for Performing Arts, I AM UNDONE and Prosess.
