When the Norwegian Army Band marches through the town centre, it is impossible not to notice them. The brass gleams, the drums drive the rhythm forwards, and the sound spreads between the buildings. Under the direction of conductor Christian Aftret Eriksen, the band presents a varied and audience-friendly programme.

Here, you will hear both classical gems and newer arrangements – several of them by the conductor himself. Eriksen is one of Norway’s most widely used arrangers for the Norwegian Armed Forces’ music ensembles, combining classical training with experience as a trombonist in bands including Åge og Sambandet. This gives the concert a distinctive energy, where the symphonic meets the popular.
