For over 20 years, the festival has awarded Ungkunst-Scholarship to two art projects per year, to artists who live in or have a strong connection to the region of Northern Norway. The Ungkunst-Scholarship has given emerging artists the opportunity to develop projects and present their artistry to a large audience.

• Are you trying to process the frustrating, mindboggling and vulnerable time we live in?

• Do you see your local community in relation to the rest of the world?

• Are you an interdisciplinary thinker and creator? 

• Do you want to connect your work to a larger perspective?

If yes, the Ungkunst-scholarship is for you!

The applicant must be under 30 years of age. If there are several applicants together, the majority of applicants must be under 30 years of age. The project must be connected to Northern Norway, and applicants who live and work in the region will be given priority. The project must have its premiere during Festspillene i Nord-Norge the following year (2026).
