Street Summit
Street Summit
Graffiti, murals, vandalism—street art takes on different names, but one thing that rings true across the world is the cultural relevance behind these works of art. Now, Arktisk Graffiti by Kulta, Arctic Arts Festival and Rampestrek gathers street artists from the Barents region to establish an artistic meeting in Harstad at the Arctic Arts Summit.
The artists will have free creative freedom on clarified and preapproved surfaces for their political and artistic comments. Inspired by their different perspectives and stories, they will produce collaborative works that will be unveiled at the end of the Arctic Arts Festival. This way, the artists will share experiences and discuss political challenges of their everyday lives. Artistic expressions will be challenged, and new creative networks will be established.
Thursday June 22nd the artists will work on pieces on some smaller surfaces at the Arctic University of Norway, Campus Harstad throughout the day. The Arctic Arts Summit delegates will have the opportunity to follow the work in progress during free time or in breaks.
